Happy New Year Pals & Birdies

The minute M moved the  camera, the birdies all flew away.  It's typical to have 50 on the patio at a time.

This is my prime viewing spot - I'm hiding behind the blinds so they not see me.

I sure would love to eat  one (errrr - invite) one in for lunch, but M would get mad.)

Hi Pals and "hello birdies"  (licking lips behind blinds)

Happy New Year to you and your wonderful family:.

I can't think of a better way to start a New Year off - having birdies in for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!  If only there wasn't all that thick glass separating us - I'd give them a real welcome - Mario style!  The only problem is that M would get mad at me!  I always wondered why she feeds them if it isn't to plump them up for a tasty meal!  Makes you wonder doesn't it!

On behalf of my humans, we three Roever's want to wish you a happy, healthy 2013 to you and your family!   We wish for you to be rich in the important things in life - love, health, shelter, food, and great friends as everything else is just enjoyable fluff.

We love all of you and appreciate so very much the love  and support that has been shown to us over the past 4 years.

Until next time,

Mario

LOVE the new header and look of the blog.
Mario I agree with you, what is the point of feeding the birds if you aren't allowed to eat them?

  24. Happy cat got her fair share of birds for lunch in spite of me trying to save them. In her old age tho she settled for just watching them!!
These 3 cats are not going outside tho. The birds are safe!!
I still can't see M!!! So I didn't read your whole blog. I can't get a good picture of our birds either.

  25. Dearest Mario, M & D
Great post and great pics ... I too am not allowed to think of birdies as meals or playthings ... humph then why do we get given toys with feathers on them! May your 2013 be filled with love and all that entails.
    Your smoochie furiends,

  27. Oh Mario, what fun to watch all those birds on the patio. Hey, Mario, did you know that your Mom and our Mom almost went out dancing on New Year's Eve. Wouldn't that have been fun to see. Neither one of us can walk across the room but we were going dancing.
Anyway, a very Happy New Year to all of your family. Take care.

  30. That is teasing, isn't it? Feedin' the birdies within sight but not reach.

Did I ever thank you for the card you sent me for Christmas? If not, I sure should have. It's BEAUTIFUL! Your dad did the art? He's good. Really, REALLY GOOD.

HAPPY NEW YEAR MARIO! May your year be filled with love and cuddles and nip! purrs

  31. Mario, I love to watch the birdies, too. But, I am outside so I also have fun running near the feeders to scare them.

    Happy New Year!

  32. hehe.. sorry the birdies left when M was trying to take a picture. My cats love watching the little lizards in the back patio and the front yard and it's a real treat for a birdie or two. Glad you get to watch them. Happy New Year sweetie. =^..^=

  35. Oh Mario! It would be fun to have some birdies in for lunch! If you do that, call me first, okay? Cause I'll come over!

Simba left me a comment that said: Pro and Con are opposites--for example, Progress and Congress! HA HA HA MEOW!

  36. Happy New Year, sweet Mario!!! We are so blessed to have you as a friend. What a beautiful New Years wish.

We hope you got to *invite* one of those birdies in for lunch. ; )

  37. Why doesn't your mom move the feeder inside and leave the door open so you can have a better view? :)

  38. Our human feeds the birds too... and the squirrels. They come right up to the window and the human thinks it is so amusing to watch our tails twitch and listen to us making the funny clicking noise. Geez... she needs to get a life and stop using us for her entertainment. We agree with you, what's the point of feeding them if we can't invite them in for a snack. *Licking chops

  44. Hi, Mario and peeps. Somehow we missed seeing this post of yours in our Reader. Happy New Year and a wishes for good health.
We used to have a bird feeder just like that. It was awesome. Then somehow it fell down and the part that holds the seed broke, but the dome didn't. Now we have the dome over another feeder and it is brilliant at keeping the squirrels from getting to the seed. I love the snow on it!
