Nabbed Again!

Hi Pals,

Do I look happy to you?  For sure I'm not!  You see I got hauled off to the dreaded v.e.t. again one day last week.   This d.i.e.t. is the cause of it.  The Vet Tech likes to track my weight every month to see how I'm doing.  M says I could be weighed at home, but the peeps say I wiggle around too much when one of them stands on the scale.  They then have trouble telling how much weight I have lost.   Since we kitties are only supposed to lose .1 or .2 pounds a month, they can't get a good reading!!!!  Well, too bad, I say!

At least this time my weight went down .1 pound - I'm getting there pals.  But it sure is slow going.   M tells me I have nothing to complain about.  I'm at the v.e.t. all of about 5 minutes - just long enough to be put on the scale and then back in my carrier again.    I still don't like it!   She also says I'm only in the car for under 10 minutes as we live only a couple of miles from the dreaded v.e.t.

Now I'm paying the peeps back for tricking me.  Every time I see them together in a room during the day, I head for UTB!  ha ha - I'm not taking any chances.   M says she feels bad about that - "GOOD"!!!   She should have to suffer a little bit too.

Happy Mancat Monday pals!

Mario

  2. You poor thing. Getting trapped and dragged to the v-e-t is never fun. Did you sing the song of our people when you were in the car?

  5. Mario you have to be weighed every month - we only get weighed about once a year and that's at our annual vet review.

  6. What a bummer you have to go to the vet for your weigh-ins, Mario! But at least you are down.

My human weighs me by putting a box on the scale and weighing it, then putting me in the box on the scale and subtracting the box's weight. It's easier for me (although I am still fidgety), and she does not have to weigh herself, which she avoids at any cost, MOL!

  7. Once a month is way too often to be hauled off to the vet! At least it is only for the weigh-in and no stabbing or probing. take care, Mario, and continue to let your humans know your displeasure. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  10. poor Mario!!! Concats on the weight loss though! Mom has me on a diet too! Tell Mom, if he doesn't already, to keep your carrier out ALL of the time! Then you will never know when you are going to the VET! It works for me! Love, Cody

  16. Donnie Duck should take your place when you have to go there. When I last went, Dr. D told TW to get me a certain scale on Amazon. If you want I’ll find it for you so maybe M can get you one. It’s just for cats.

  17. M weighs me every week or two and, thankfully, she scoops me right up and I don't wiggle too much.

I see her coming though and head UTB. Can't make it too easy. These humans can be sneaky!

    Hugs Mario,

    Nik

  18. ummm...Mario...did you really mean cats are not supposed to lose more than two tenths of a pound tops per MONTH!! We need to research this because it might help us understand why we are have now seen 3 cats with hepatic lipidosis which is mostly caused by rapid weight loss. Great info buddy...oh yeah CONCATS on your proper weight loss!!

  22. I'm sorry you have to go to the v.e.t. for a weigh-in. I have a baby scale at home that they use to check my weight. I've lost 6 ounces in the past couple months. Mom's goal for me is to lose another 10-12 ounces so I weight a healthy 11 pounds. Keep up the good work on your healthy eating plan.

  24. Mario, so sorry you had to go through that. Even so, you have some really good peeps to take such good care of you.
