Interesting Night

Hi Pals,

We had a little situation at our house on Friday night.   M had been grumbling  for the past several nights I haven't been sleeping with her, and she misses me.   Well, I've been busy - have things to do  at night.

At 3:00 O'Dark Saturday morning M got up  to use the human litter box, I guess.   Anyway she looked for me but didn't see me.   I can't get out when all the doors and windows are locked, so she went back to bed.

About 4:15 O'Dark I really pounced on M's bed.   She thought I had come there to sleep----wrong!   I wanted to wake her up, and I was very insistent about it too by getting in her face.  She thought I just wanted her to give me more room, so she moved over.   I stayed in her face.   Then her brain kicked in and she knew I wanted something.

The minute she looked like she was going to  get up, I shot off for the kitchen, rattled the vertical binds on the Patio and sat there like is shown in the picture.  She turned on the light so she could see, and this is what greeted her:

I was upset because I wanted her to either go get the mousie or let me out so I could get him.  I knew he wasn't supposed to be climbing on our patio screen door.   As you can see, he was pretty high up on the screen door and looked like maybe he was headed back down again.  I was hoping M would open the door and put out the bird seed early so I could sneak out the door quick.  Dang!

M said now she knows why I haven't been coming to bed.  I've been guarding Mousies!

  6. That mousie was on the outside of the door, so I couldn't get him without someone opening the door for me. M would have been shrieking if he would have been inside.

  13. Fancy not being allowed outside to gather that plump mousie which would have been a tasty nibble to snack on during the night Mario. Humans are so thoughtless.

  14. OH MARIO! Now that is a sight! You are so much nicer than I am. I would have been even MORE insistent. Maybe even calling mom! GOOD job Mario. And you know, when we make a big heavy bounce in the bed, the humans are always alerted that we did that for a reason. Good for your mom checking for you. xxoo

  21. Mario, you're doing a great job alerting your mom to mousies. But 4:15 a.m. is a wee bit early for the humans to truly appreciate your diligence.
