Thankful THursday Blog Hop - New PTU

Hi Pals,

Check out my new PTU!   Isn't it great?   It's on wheels like a piece of carry-on luggage you'd use at the airport.   I'm not really going to fly (right M????) .   M says this will be easier on her back and D's back when I go to the vet or visit my cousins.   The peeps had thought  about a  stroller for me, but they wanted something that would be safe in the car at the same time.  This PTU can be strapped in the car with a seat belt!  It has some screening on the sides, so I can look outside too if I'm sitting up.  It can be used as a back pack (but M says it would take a strong back).

This is not an advertisement for them, but it is a Pet Gear item, I-G02 Plus Traveler.    M ordered mine from Mr. Chewy so it  was delivered right to our front door.  M has it in the living room in an open position so I can go in and out when I want.  I do sometimes spend time in there.   The floor is really neat to "dig" on and I do that frequently.  It feels so good on my paws.   I haven't been anywhere in it yet, but we'll try it out soon.  When I do, I'll post pictures and tell you how it went.

Thanks to all of you for leaving the wonderful, helpful suggestions on how to help me accept my cousins in my house while sisfur and SIL are on their vacation.    We plan on doing as you have advised.

Now join @PepiSmartDog's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  It's fun and you'll meet lots of new pals.

The Longest 24 Hours EVER

Tanner liked peeking thru those blinds.
Hi Pals,

I need your help!  My two cousins were at MY house for  a sleepover - from Saturday nite at 4:00 to Sunday night at 4:00!    I heard the humans talking about when Sisfur and SIL take a vacation, these two BRATS (M here - Now Mario, they are very nice kitties.  They didn't bother you even one time - YOU were the a spoiled brat while they were here).  will stay for two WHOLE weeks - PALS - that is 15 days that they will be here.  HELP!

I growled mainly at Tanner (the one in the above picture) - M says he is the youngest and smallest.    Saturday night he had the nerve to go to my toy basket and pull out toys to play with without asking me first.   Boy, did I ever growl at him.     Then anytime he went downstairs, I sat at the top of the steps and waited for him to come up.  When he tried to come up, I growled some more!  he he - guess I showed him.  (Mario - that was really naughty of you.)

Tucker hiding behind M's artificial plant.

M here:  We had a peaceful night with Mario in bed with me.  Anytime I got up Tanner was looking out the blinds on the patio -  patrolling the property.   Tucker was usually curled up on a padded chair under the dining room table.

Mario has been an only kitty for 10 years now and he is spoiled.   We have had other kitties come and go - as we have taken care of a few different ones when their humans were going on vacation.   This is the first time Mario has shown so much jealousy.

Any wise words of wisdom from any of you with multiple cats?   I welcome suggestions.  Tucker and Tanner are delightful kitties and don't bother Mario at all other than trying to play with his stuff.   Next time I will try to give Mario more attention while they are here - that is one thing I have thought of.

Woohoo - I'm A Winner

Hi Pals,

About a week ago I got this package in the mail.  M looked at me and said, Mario, did you use my credit card again?   Of course I quickly said "no."   I haven't used her credit card since forever (the last time I used it and she lectured me on responsibility and how we can't spend every last dime we have.")

Well pals, that beautiful package was from my good pals at 15AndMeowing because I had won their Grumpy Cat Contest a couple of weeks ago.

Look at all the neat stuff I got:
Sorry that I'm so blurry, but M said I moved just as she snapped the thingy down.    Anyway, there is a mat to lay on; two toys - a red ball kind of toy and my very own turkey drumstick; A Grumpy Cat calendar and some stickers.   The drumstick and ball are so much fun.  I chased them around for a bit and followed them down the steps when they rolled downstairs.  That mat is fun to lay on - I've used it almost every day since it arrived.  The neat thing about it is that it is two-sided so one can put their own catnip down the center.

That Ms Ellen sure does a nice job of making the prizes she lets us win.   They are always fun and quite often smell of catnip too.

Thank you to Ms Ellen and all the gang at 15andmeowing.

Sunday Selfie Blog Hop and Some Disturbing News From Blogger

Hi Pals,

Thanks to The Cat On My Head for hosting this week's Selfie  Blog Hop.   You Rock.   Also, please continue to purr for Fiona, who still is sick.

Now some very IMPORTANT NEWS from Blogger, which I found by going into my Dashboard and I just happened to click on "Overview" which I hardly ever do.   Scroll down and you'll see the message, which I have copied here because Blogger said we could share.

"In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs."

"As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remAove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count."

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

They have already had 800+ comments, so I doubt they are going to change their minds. We're stuck. I am thinking about changing mine over to Word Press, if I can find someone to do it for me. It's way over my head and M's head - she said.

A suggestion for those of you who don't have Google accounts, you can follow me by email and you will be notified every time I post a new blog. If you know my history, I don't post every day - I'm lucky if I can do it once a week so you won't be overwhelmed with messages in your inbox.

Thanks pals.  I hope I don't lose too many followers as I don't have all that many the way it is.   Blogger is making it very difficult.

Now let's all Blog Hop!

@TiggyBean - "Smile When You Think Of Me"

Hi Pals,

Twitterland was a very sad place on Monday when we all learned our good pal @TiggyBean's heart just couldn't go any longer so he told his pawrents it was time to cross the Rainbow Bridge.   He had fought bravely and valiantly for a long time, but his heart said "enough - I need to rest."

Tiggy was a good buddy to so many of us for so many years that it's hard to imagine life on Twitter without him.   There were lots of leaky eyes for a couple of days.

He loved everyone and was kind and caring to everyone.  He didn't have a mean bone in his body.
Now he is an Angel in the heavens with his brother Dee, who crossed not too long ago too.

Tiggy, you will be missed so much, but I'm going to try to always remember your advice to me "Smile when you think of me."  That will keep me going pal.
And, I know we will meet again one day when I have to cross that bridge.

I am so very thankful that you were my good buddy!

Love you pal,

Mario and M

Happy New Year and Catmas Eve Sleepover

Hi Pals,

It was an exciting Catmas Eve this year as we three (M, D, and me) were invited to sisfur's house to stay overnight.    M said yes because it was a brown Christmas and the peeps didn't have to worry about driving home the next day when Sisfur and SIL left for SIL's family gathering.

Pals, I was such a good boy there.  I think I felt better cuz M and D were there with me.   I never ran for the basement until I had to use the litter box, and I even sat down and just observed what was going on.

In the picture above, Tanner and I are watching Tucker try to get the Gerbils through the glass cage they are in.  hehe - the Gerbils like it too when we kitties come right up  to the cage.   They have no fear of us as birdies are their natural predator - big birdies that is.

M says she only heard me growl once while I was there, and it was a quiet growl.  Tucker and Tanner were perfect hosts once again.   When it was bedtime, I hopped in bed with M right away and spent the night there.    It was a fun overnighter!  Now M says my two cousins will come here for the next visit and stay overnight.  Hmm, not sure how I feel about that as they will probably try to sleep with M too.

Happy New Year to you and your humans pals.  We hope you all have a very healthy and happy 2016
