Merry Crissymas 2012

Fake New Tree - not big enough for me!

Merry Crissymas dear friends,

This year my peeps decided to get a smaller tree so they could get it downstairs easier when they take the ornaments off.    They like to keep the lights on for storage, but take the fancy ball things off and beads.   I volunteered to bat the round ornaments down the steps for them.  That would be easier for them - right?

Well, they won out and bought a new tree.  As you can see, I don't like the new tree as much as the old tree  from last year.  They had the nerve to buy this stinky little 4 1/2 foot fake tree.   I did manage to crawl under it once, but I left once M got the flashy box out.  The old tree fit me just right!
Last year's tree fits me better!

I just don't understand why I can't have the old tree back. Why do the dang oomans always want something new?   Sigh!  I just don't get it! The old tree was a purrfect fit for me.  I could sleep and nap under all of the branches.    Now I have those picky needles poking me all over.   Sigh!   I'm so deprived.

Now I need to apologize for not being around to visit.  It's all M's fault again.   M says she just don't move as fast as she once did and can't get everything in anymore.  But, she promises that after the holidays we'll get back to normal and at least visit everyone twice a week.

Merry Crissymas friends from our house to your house.

Mario

Two Sweethearts Need New Home &

MoooMoo (Female)\
4 Years Old
Must be placed with sibling shown on the bottom
Big Boy (Male)
4 years old
Must be placed with Sibling shown above

Hi Pals,

M and I are helping a Twitter friend find a new home for his two kitties. For a full detail of what has happened that he has to do this and details about the two kitties, please see:   NascarKitty's Blog Post.

These two sweeties need to get to a forever home fast!   Please search your brain for anyone you know who might be interested in being their new staff.  Refer @NascarKitty's Blog to them.   He has his email address posted in that blog also, so you can easily get in touch with him.  Help spread the word if you can.

He he - it's funny, but the kitty called Big Boy reminds us so much of my human sisfur's kitty -  Amos.   (Only we call him Big Guy!)  Amos even looks like Big Boy.  And Amos is a real sweetie too - not a mean bone in his body.

Well, gotta go for now and start tweeting a few.   Keep your paws crossed that we can find these two sweeties a good forever home.

Mario

Little Doggie Leaves Giant Legacy

Frugaldougal - Founder of #pawpawty

Hi Pals,

It is with sadness and leaky eyes as I write this.  Twitter lost a very dear pal early this morning UK time.  Our beloved @Frugaldougal has been ill for a very long long time and his pawparents decided to help him cross the bridge rather than make him suffer.

The "Dougal," as many of us  called him, is a little doggie in stature, who will be leaving a GIANT LEGACY!   He's the founder of the original 24-hour-#pawpawty about 4 years ago.   Over the years he has raised money for animal shelters all over the world - the US, UK, Australia, and other countries I'm not remembering right this minute.   His human mom, Lynn, and Dougal hatched the idea and then talked to pals who joined them.  Pretty soon an entire committee was formed of DJs, Barktenders, Quizmasters (with the Dougal being the primary Quizzer), fancy menus with great noms and drinks designed by JavaTheCat.  At some point the idea of a theme for the month was born with costumes to fit that theme.  They rounded up prizes (nice prizes too I might add)   Lynn and Dougal worked tirelessly around the clock for the pawparties.  What a pawsome idea it was that continues today with @GeorgeTheDuck and #nipclub carrying on the tradition for Dougal and his mom.   It was the EVENT of the Month    It was a blast, and right at the center of it was that energetic doggie - Dougal!

There are lots of tributes going out to him today.   @PepiSmartDog is helping him cross the bridge on Twitter as I write this.    She reposted the blog she did in 2010 when Dougal was so ill and none of us thought he would be with us much longer.   97 comments were left for Dougal's family on that post.  The link is  http://pepismartdog.com/?p=3003.   Reading those comments brought back so many memories of such good times with Dougal at the helm.   What a guy, and what a wonderful family he has.

GeorgeTheDuck put together a lovely TWibbon for AV's on Twitter or Facebook. If interested in one - just click here:   http://twb.ly/V4urPh

Fly high Dougal.   I love you pal and I am only saying a temporary Bye.   We'll meet again one day I just know it.    Have fun with all our pals who  are there.  I'll bet there will be one big #pawpawty OTRB tonight when the Dougal gathers together all our pals that have crossed the bridge.  Fly high pal!  You are free to run thru those fields.   We love you, will miss you, but you will live in our hearts forever.  The world is a better place because of you, and M and I are both better human/cat because of you!  You taught all of us unconditional love and compassion.  You showed us that anipals and their humans  can come together from all over the world, united in helping to make life better for anipals in shelters. You showed us that we can all work together for a common cause of helping anipals.   What a legacy you have left for those of us who love you so dearly!

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Dougal's family and brother for their loss.

I know that tonight Dougal's star will be the brightest one in the sky

Thankful Thursday

Hi Pals,

I'm so  very thankful today that D is better.   On Tuesday M had him to the ooman vet  cuz he was running a temp, caughing his shoelaces up (he he - not really, but that's what M called it cuz it was so bad running a temperature, crabby, and generally just felt lousy! )   M has been pulling double duty around here and taking care of him in addition.

The medicine from the ooman vet must have worked cuz today he was upright a couple of more times than yesterday or the day before.   M threatened him and said he'd have to go to the hospital if he didn't behave and take his drugs and drink lots of fluids.  She can really crack the whip that one can!

I don't like to see him sick, so I'm really thankful he's better. But I'll tell you pals, I really had it made around here.   Lap all day, every day.   I only got up off of it to eat, use the litter box, play with M, and go to bed at night.   It was heaven!   Sigh!  I guess all good things have to end sometime!

Don't forget #nipclub's Winter Wonderland 24-hour pawty is on - starting on Saturday afternoon 2 pm EST.   Just use the hashtag #nipclub and come on over.  They are doing a tribute to our dear friend @MarleyTerrier at 2:15 p.,m..   Marley crossed the bridge yesterday, so we've sad as it's always hard to say goodbye.  What a sweetie she was too.

Until next time pals.  Oh, we're really behind here and M says she's not sure how she'll get around to doing blogs or reading them to me for the next week or so.   So bare with us please - we do love you, enjoy your bloggies, and will return as soon as we can.

Oh, we have joined @PepiSmartDog's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop this week.  Hop on board with us.

I've Been Insulted and Happy Thanksgiving Early

Hi Pals,

I've been insulted.  Can you believe it - I've been insulted by my very own staff!

M is now telling me I'm as fat as this turkey and I'd be very tasty!  How can she possibly compare this to me?

This is me helping M at night on the puter and patrolling the backyard at the same time.  Very important job!

Now do I look anything like that turkey above?

I think M needs her head examined cuz she's coo koo!

I'll try to forgive her because it is, afterall, Thanksgiving, and I am very thankful for my warm, cozy home and loving staff.   But she'd better be careful cuz my patience only goes so far.

I am very thankful for all my friends in the Blogosphere and on Twitter.  You guys are all the best and are always there for me if something bad happens.   I just love all of you and so does M  (At least that we agree on.)

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your family!

 Happy Veterans Day Everyone,

Do you know a veteran?   I would guess we all know at least one, if not more.   I do - my favorite #1 person was in the Korean War - well he was in Korea right after the war was supposedly over.   But dad says there was still plenty of shooting going on and one had to be careful with where they went.   Supposedly the war was over tho, which made M feel good.

We need to remember all veterans because without them fighting for us in this country, we probably wouldn't have many of the freedoms we now enjoy.   I think it's too bad we have to ever have wars and need men and women to protect us.   Why can't everyone be more like a cat - settle our differences with a few hisses and maybe a whomp  or two across he nose.   Just establish our territories and leave each other alone - be respectful to the other's territory.   Sigh!

Until that happens, I guess we'll always need men and women to protect us so we keep our freedoms.,

So veterans, enjoy your special day ----- you deserve every minute of it and we appreciate all you have done for us.

The Merry Chase Is On!

Hi Pals,

Oomans are really stupid sometimes you know!   Yesterday I was minding my own business, thinking about taking another nap, so I curled up on the sofa.  But you know how it is, we kitties always sleep with one eye open and both ears working overtime.  D was gone off to a place he calls exercise and M was just hanging out.

All of  a sudden I heard clattering on the wall that was loud enough to wake the biggest sleeping elephant.,   Now being of a suspicious nature, of course I had to come out to see what was going on.   Well, human M thought she would be sneaky and hauled up the PTU and set it on the table.   This is not good because the PTU means I'm going somewhere and it won't be fun either.

When D came home, I took off like a shot in the dark, hid under the center of a queen-sized bed and would not budge.   Then one of them had the nerve to poke the cane monster  under the bed at me.     I took off again and hid in the closet with a two-way escape  hatch.  he he  I was so sure I had them there.   If they came at me from one side, I'd just shoot out the other. which I did try.   But D was waiting for me by the door and next thing I know I'm in the jail box being hauled off to the V.E.T. again - something about my annual check up.
Well pals, I tried to make this the most miserable trip ever for my oomans.   I refused to look at either one of  them or even at the v.e.t. lady.  I sang as loud as I could in the car so I'd hurt their ears.   I totally ignored them and turned my head away.    Did they really think that I would NOT make them PAY for what they did to me!!    he he and I  got the last laugh because  M tried to take a picture, but it seems the flashy box thing is broke!  YAY!  She said the button is pushed down already and won't come back up to open the lens - whatever!

I heard M telling the v.e.t. lady tho that I  did lead them on a merry chase - something about they are getting too old to have to chase me.  (ha ha - of course I led them on a  merry chase - that's my job and I'm not going to the v.e.t. place willingly!)

Until next time pals,

Mario

Doba Nobis Pacem

Dona Nobis Pacem

In this house, we've always loved the song "Let There Be Peace On Earth" written by  Jill Jackson Miller and Sy Miller, written in 1955.

"Let There Be Peace on Earth and let it begin with me.
Let There Be Peace on Earth, the peace that was meant to be!
With God as our Father, brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me. Let this be the moment now.

With ev'ry breath I take, let this be my solemn vow;
To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally!
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me!"

Peace be with you pals,

Mario

Thankful Thursday

Kitty Jamie with his new Mom (@MizzBassie's mom also
Hi Pals,

WOW - I have so much to be thankful for on this Thankful Thursday.

I'm so thankful that we got abandoned kitty Jamie to his new home in Hollywood Florida and on time at that - even with a hurricane passing by the day before the caravan left.  It was such an exciting Sunday on Twitter.  And you should have heard (or seen) the cheers go up when Dorian tweeted that, @MizzBassie's human   had Jamie.  Dorian tweeted the above picture.  It brought tears to M's eyes and also the the human eyes of many of my pals.  @MizzBassie has tweeted several times that Jamie is doing well, and she has also sent many pictures showing Jamie in the  same picture with one or more of her other kitties. She said they are establishing their ruling order with only a few hisses and growls, but no big fights to date.   Like several of us already knew, Jamie is a very laid back kitty and doesn't get riled up easily.  I just know he's going to fit into that family very well.  Once again, thank you to everyone involved in finding Jamie a new home or getting Jamie to his new home, and special thanks to MizzBassie's human for taking him.    Our animal group rocks  both on Twitter and also the blogosphere.  We did it  again!

It's really been quite a week hasn't it.  I'm very thankful that nasty hurricane is over.   The next morning we were kept busy checking in with our friends on Twitter that live in the hurricane area, making sure everyone was okay.  We will be very Thankful if we never see another hurricane like that again - ever!

I've joined the Thankful Thursday blog post run by @PepiSmartDog.  To join go over and say hi to Pepi and hop  on board.

Until next time,

Mario

Jamie - Hollywood Here I Come!

Hi Pals:

I'm so excited today because the abandoned kitty (Jamie) leaves  North Carolina on Sunday to begin his journey to his new home with @MizzBassie in Southern Florida.   He's being driven by several wonderful volunteers whom M calls "Jamie's Angels."   The caravan leaves with Brian's Dad (Terry) driving the 1st leg.   He's being handed over to a new driver at each stop.  Dorian said she'd post pictures of the hand-off at each stop after the trip is over.

There are so many to thank as this is quite a trip with a lot of humans involved.

M and I want to thank:

1.   Brian's dad (Terry at Brian's Home) so much for telling us about Jamie and starting the ball rolling to finding Jamie a new home and seeing that he was comfortable in the shelter and well cared for until a permanent home could be found.  Brian does a fantastic job with rescue kitties and many times is called out on an rescue in the middle of the night.     This is NOT his first rescue mission by any means.  He is a pro.

2.    The owner/Manger at the Doggy Shelter who took extra good care of Jamie while he was having to stay there due to lack of room at other shelters.  That nice lady kept Jamie with her in the shelter office, where he got lots of lap time and extra attention.     She said she would have liked to adopt him because he is such a nice cat, but she has a house full of dogs, and Jamie would not be happy

3.   Dorian of @YourDailyCute/ for lining up a group of Rescue Angels and coordinating with Terry on arrangements.   She coordinated and contacted her rescue people, set up the itinerary and schedule. Not an easy job I'm sure.  She has done this kind of thing many times before and has the system down pat!!  We can't thank you enough Dorian.   You are a real pro at this rescue business!  M says she's sure you spend hours and hours on each rescue because this one was so well thought and planned - right down to an approximate time schedule all day long.

4.    All the drivers, who are giving up their personal, free time, and paying for their own gas money  to help drive several miles to take Jamie  to the next designated stop.   You all are special Angels and I'm calling you #Jamie'sAngels.  Without you we'd probably still be trying to figure out how to get Jamie to his new home.

5.    @MizzBassie for adopting Jamie.   We can't thank her enough for saying she'd like to adopt Jamie because we know he's going to a very good home where he will receive expert, loving care.     @MizzBassie lost one of her special kitties about a year ago, and she said she was now ready to bring a new kitty into her home to live with the other kitties.   We know Jamie will get lots of love and attention with MizzBassie and her family.  He is one very, very lucky kitty
.
6.  Then last, but not least, thank you to all of you on Twitter for RTing so many of my tweets and for putting up with seeing so many tweets over and over again on the same subject.   Without your  help, we would not have found two of the volunteers!    Once again, the anipals on Twitter and the Blogosphere ROCK!

What a wonderful group of humans working so hard to get Jamie to his new home with @MizzBassie.  We feel so honored to be associated with such a wonderful group and to be a tiny part of this very special rescue.

SPECIAL NOTE:   You can follow Jamie's progress on Twitter by watching for the hashtag #JamieRoadTrip.  Dorian will post the tweet and a few of us will be watching so we can RT it.   It's going to be so fun to follow his progress.   As soon as the time line is posted, I'll tweet the begin time on Sunday morning with the hashtag of #JamieRoadTrip.

Woohoo - this is all just so exciting!  Now I just hope "Sandy" gets out of the way of the route our "Jamie's Angels" are taking.

Oh yes, a big thank you to  all of you for your many comments and suggestions on my blog.  All the suggestions were good ones and were passed on to Brian and Dorian.  I'm keeping them as ideas if and when there is a "next time."

Until next time pals,

Mario

P.S.  M says special thoughts and prayers are going to our pals along the East Coast where Sandy is whipping up quite a storm.  We hope everyone is safe and out of harms way.  She will be worried about our #JamiesAngels also as they make the journey to Jamie's new home.

"Only 157 Miles To Go To Get Me To My New Home"

ATTENTION SOUTH CAROLINA PALS

We are trying desperately to get this rescued kitty to his new home in Hollywood, Florida from Greeanville, S.C. where he is currently living after a wonderful man (Terry Frum) heard he was in an already full shelter in Greenville, SC.   Please see Brian's Blog for all the details of his rescue

Dorian of Your Daily Cute is organizing a chain link of rides to get Jamie from Greenville to Hoillywood, Florida, where his new family eagerly awaits him.   The  chain is missing a link:

WANTED: Driver, who lives in the Columbia area,  to drive Jamie from Columbia, S.C. to Savannah, Georgia on November 3rd, 2012.

where another ride will be waiting and willing to take the next leg.  Brian can get him from Greenville to  Columbia, but can't drive him to Savannah because  of prior important commitments.
*****
Can you help or do you know someone who loves cats that might be able to make the journey of 157 miles with Jamie to the next link in this chain to get Jamie to his new home?  This trip  begins November 3rd, leaving from Greenville to Columbia.  Can you provide the missing link?

If you can, please contact Dorian via email to:  dorian@yourdailycute.com

*****
We have an amazing group of volunteers who are wiling to save the life of this sweet boy.   These folks and friends have done this kind of thing numerous times, and M and I so deeply appreciative of their efforts each and every time to save the life of another animal.  A big thank you to all of you who are helping in this endeavor.  We love you all.

Please - Columbia S.C. humans - we need your help to  save this kitty.

Thanks,

Mario & M

RIDE WANTED - Columbia, SC to Savannah,Georgia; then Svanaah to Jacksonville, Fla.

Hi Pals

Jamie is closer to getting to Hollywood, Fla to his new home with @MizzBassie.  We have a few volunteers for the long Florida drive but we still need coverage for the following two legs of Jamie's journey.

Please read @Brian106sc's blog as it spells things out nicely and has the link where you can sign up to volunteer:   http://www.brianshomeblog.com/2012/10/dumped-kitty-jamie-needs-a-ride-home-to-south-florida.html

M communicated with Dorian at Your Daily Cute who is coordinating the transportation piece of Jamie's journey. She indicated the Florida leg has sufficient volunteers. Here are the two legs that still need to be covered:

From:Columbia, SC to Savannah, GA - approximately 2 hours, 45 minutes one way.
From Savannah, GA to Jacksonville, FL. - approximately 2 hours 30 minutes one way.

Help us spread the word. If you know anyone living in those two states, maybe send them the link to this blog to see if they could be of help - or maybe they know of a cat lover that could help.

As M says, these are relatively easy legs to drive and she wishes we lived closer to help out..

Please - we need one or two people yet to take these first two legs of Jamie's journey to get him HOME to @MizzBassie. I know we anipals and our humans CAN DO THIS!

Mario

We're Doing The Happy Dance For Jamie

Hi Pals -

We're doing the "happy dance" here.   GREAT NEWS - Abandoned Jamie is going to be adopted by Twitter's very own @MizzBassie.  He doesn't know it yet but he is going to have a super home and family to love him.     Thank you, thank you, thank you to MizzBassie for adopting him.   We know he will have a very happy, loving forever home.

In the meantime Jamie is still at the doggie shelter, but the kind lady there put him in his cage in her office so he doesn't have to be by the doggies.  For now he's reasonably happy.

Now hard part - we need to transport him from South Carolina to Southern Florida - Fort Lauderdale/Miami area.   Brian's dad is working on a couple of leads for perhaps doing a relay down the state of Florida.   If that doesn't work out, we'll have  to fly him down there with a human to accompany him.

We will need to raise funds, so a chip in will be going up.   Please stay tuned for that - we'll be needing lots of help on this one.  But, I know the anipal community, and I know we can pull together and raise the funds needed.
So stay tuned dear friends and in the meantime do the Happy Dance with me.

Until next time,

Mario

PLEASE HELP This Adorable Little Guy

Hi Pals,

M is broken hearted again.   You know every now and then she falls in love with an anipals story.  Such is the case with Jamie in Greenville, South Carolina.

Jamie was abandoned, then found by someone who couldn't keep him.  A person found him and tried to find a shelter that had room  but all the shelters in that area are filled up and not taking more pets - except a shelter for doggies.  They would take him on a temporary basis, but they also need the room.  If a home isn't found for Jamie real FAST, he will be turned over to the county shelter - which means instant death.

Please check out Brian's Blog for the details.   http://ow.ly/2syEcK.  M is so upset because Jamie has a great disposition, is loveable and affectionate, and loves laps.   This cat does not deserve the fate he's been dealt - either the death-trap county shelter or being in a shelter for dogs only, where they will eat him alive if he gets out of this cage.

Brian said transportation could be arranged, but obviously that takes time to do.  We need someone to take him NOW that lives in that area of the US.   Please rack your brain to see if you know of anyone the south eastern part of the US that might be able to take Jamie. - even a foster home would be considered.  We do have someone in Seattle that might take him, but we'd have to do a fund raiser to raise the $$ for transportation.   He won't last in either shelter that long.

If you tweet, please help tweet this using the link to Brian's Blog http://ow.ly/2syEcK as he lives in that area and has all the details.

Come on pals - through the power of Twitter and the Blogosphere we CAN DO THIS - FIND A HOME FOR Jamie.

Until next time,

Mario

Thankful For All Our Wonderful Friends on Thankful Thursday

Mario whiffing Cat Mint Plant before it is winterized.

Hi Pals,

I haven't been able to  participate in one of these blog hops for awhile cuz M has been keeping too busy.   But she promised me this week she'd try to get back to doing things for me!  (It's about time).

I especially wanted to start with Thankful Thursday Blog Hop so I could personally thank all of you - my dear pals, both on Twitter and in the Blogosphere, for all the times you have contributed to the many Chip In's I've hosted this past year.   It just seems like we have so many pals needing help lately.  M says something bout it's cuz of the economy or something like that, but it's so very sad to see.   So thanks to all of you for your generous donations, even tho sometimes it's isn't easy for you either.   I hate to mention any of them for fear of leaving someone out, but you know who you have helped this past year and each and everyone of those you helped really, deeply appreciated it.

Now I even hesitate to mention another one in need, but I'm thinking some of you bloggers might know her and might want to know about it.

@MizzBusyBiz's human mom is Francy Dickinson, author of Senior Care Tips,   Francy's husband has final stages of Alzheimer's and Francy is his only caregiver.   They were just notified recently that they have lost their home due to Foreclosure.   The sad part is that the family has no money, but a friend offered to move them and let them move in with him, which will be better than being homeless.   But still the family has to cover their moving expenses, pay to keep their furniture and personal items in storage, and will have to contribute their share to the new living situation out of town.

If any of you know Francy and/or @MizzBusyBiz and wish to contribute, there is a chip in at http://lwarner.chipin.com/missbusybiz-urgent-family-situation.
Also, MaggieTKat's human, Wanda Kruse is hosting an Auction with proceeds going to Francy's family.   There are some lovely items at http://krusekats.blogspot.com/2012/10/pinkpawty-auction-time-for-mizzbusybiz.html - including one of Wanda's beautiful quilts (go over and take a look at it).

Once again, I am so very thankful for all of you who keep opening up your hearts and wallets to help  those in need - if you can.   We don't however, want anyone helping that really dosen't have any $$ to spare.  As a dear friend once told me - "Charity begins at home."

We're participating in the Blog Hop this week.  Our special thanks go out to @Cokiethecat for his hosting this blog hop for a few years.  It's impossible for him to keep up with it tho because his human is getting too busy to help him.  Obviously, Cokie, being a cat, needs her help.

They just announced today tho that @PepiSmartDog has agreed to take it over.  I would hate to see it dissolved also, so thanks to Pepi for taking it over. We'll try to be better about posting something once a week anyway - Right M????  (yes, Mario - I"ll try).

Now hop on board this fun Blog Hop and see who you meet along the route.

Mario

The First One To Help Others Needs Our Help

Hi Pals,

I just got some disturbing news today.  Our good friend Marg at Marg's Pets needs our help.   Her sweet dog that means the world to her has been diagnosed with Kidney Disease.    She would like to start treatment for Jasmine, but has no $$ to pay for the treatment.  You see, Marg already has her hands full taking care of all the animals that live on her small piece of land in North Carolina.

Marg has been feeding and taking care of strays and ferals, etc for a long time.   She tries  to rehome those that she can and has never turned her head the other way when an animal wanders onto her property or was dumped there.  She is a guardian angel of the anipal world.

To get an idea as to what Marg's place is all about, check out her blog.   http://www.margsanimals.com/blogs/index.php/margspets/.   She even has a couple of cute donkeys.   Most of her animals have been rescued from a bad situation or have wondered onto her property looking for food and shelter..   She operates strictly on donations, sometimes barely having enough to eat for herself, but the animals are cared for.

Now regarding Jasmine, Marg needs money to pay for Jasmine's vet bills.   Jasmine has an infection that they are trying to clear up before beginning the hydration for the kidneys.   She will also need to be on special dietary food for kidneys, and you and I both know that is very expensive.  The vet has said he doesn't even want Jasmine to go home until the infection is either cleared up or well on it's way to being cleared up.

This lady has done so much for all of us in one way or another, now we need to help her.   No amount is too small.   Even one or two dollars will help her out because it all adds up.  Please open up your hearts and help Marg if you can.

The Chip In widget is on Marg's blog at http://www.margsanimals.com/blogs/index.php/margspets/

Thanks pals.

Gotta See To Believe

GeorgeTheDuck on Twitter
Who's typist is
Robyn Harton

Hi Pals,

My last post I talked about several things that were going on all at once to help raise money for Robyn Harton's kitty Mini, who was diagnosed with  serious heart problems over Labor  Day  Weekend.   Mini is doing okay now as long as she keeps taking the expensive medication.  But you can imagine what kind of medical bill Robyn is saddled with!!  ZOWIE!

Most of the other fund raisers are over now except for the AUCTION held by Friends Of The Catblogosphere.  Fortunately, that AUCTION has not ended, it's still up and running.  But we need some help in spreading the word.

There are some wonderful items up for auction and not that many bidders.   I have been spreading the word on Twitter, but we need to have the word spread right here on the CB.  Can you help with that?  There is still time this week to have a few bidding wars too!  he he - they are always fun.  YOU GOTTA SEE To BELIEVE what great items are up for bid.  Go to http://furriendsofthecb.blogspot.com/ and tell your friends.

Until later pals,

Mario

P.S.  If you just prefer to donate a couple of $$, there is a Chip-In widget over at the auction site, and also one right here on my own bloggy,.

Helping Paws For A Friend - Mini's Shopping Mall

Hi Pals,

This is going to be a long post, but there is just so much important stuff to cover.  You know me -  Mario - the talker!   First of all get out and VOTE for Katie (@Glogirly - http://www.glogirly.com/2012/08/campaign-for-cause-blind-cat-rescue.html.  It takes just a minute to do and this is so important for her Animal Charity - Blind Cat Rescue.  If they win, they will be awarded $7500 and that will go  a long way to help the blind kitties.

Sorry I hasn't been around visiting for a couple of weeks, but M wasn't feeling well for a period of time.   She wrote all about it in her PD bloggy, if you'd like the lowdown!   Anyway, she says she just can't keep up anymore because everything takes her twice as long to do as it should.  She promises me she'll make more of an effort to help visit all of you.   http://shufflingalongwithPD.blogspot.com/

Now for something much more serious and important.  Our good pal @GeorgeTheDuck is feeling pretty sad these days and so is typist.   Robyn's special kitty, Mini, has congestive heart failure and needs medicine that is very expensive.    Mini can be treated and should be okay if she keeps getting the very expensive medicine.   There are several of us helping in various ways and you can help out too with the following choices:

@CathyKeisha started the ball rolling by contacting the http://furriendsofthecb.blogspot.com/ and they have an auction up  and running already.   Several lovely items are up for bid, including a cross stitch picture  done my M.     Here's the picture M submitted for the auction, but you'll have to go to the auction itself in order to place a bid.   Check out all of the items up for bid!  There are some pretty cool items over there.

There is also a Chip-in Widget at the Cat Blogosphere Site http://furriendsofthecb.blogspot.com/.  So you can help out with either cash in the Chip-in or perhaps there is an item up for auction that you'd love to have.  The same chip-in is in this blog at the top of this page - right hand column.  Then........
Typist and GeorgeTheDuck are holding a Garage Sale Blog Pawty for all their  friends.   Here's the information George sent out:   "

"We are having a blog pawty Garage Sale for our friends at the House of the Mostly Black Cats and GeorgeTheDuck to help highlight the Mom Robyn aka the Typist store. #Sale4Mini is a big sale for Mini's medical expenses that began at midnight last night,  9/10/12, and ends at midnight Thursday, 9/13/12. Please come and see the great sale at http://georgetheduck.com/2012/09/garage-sale-for-mini/ There are prizes for anyone that blogs for this event or tweets out the link to George's blog, as well as purchasing from Typist's store or donating. Hashtag on twitter is #Sale4Mini. Please stop by and check out the 20% coupon sale just for friends of Mini. If you are blogging or tweeting, please leave a comment on the Garage Sale post to be entered in the prizes. Most importantly stop by with a comment sending Mini healing purrs."

I don't know if you are familiar with the Typist's jewelry or not, but you really should buy a piece.  It is quality work from top to bottom and worth every penny.  It's the kind of jewelry that you'd like to pass down to someone when the inevitable happens.  So go over and check out her store at http://crystalsandjewelry.com/

Now I hope everyone gets busy shopping. With all that is being offered, it's better than being at the mall!!  Woohoo - let's see what we can do to help Robyn and George feel a little better.   It's bad enough that they have to worry about Mini's health without having to worry that they can't afford the vet bill or the medicine.

Oh, don 't forget to leave purrs and purrayers comments on http://georgetheduck.com/2012/09/garage-sale-for-mini/ for Mini.  She is a  beautiful girl!

See you at the mall!

Mario

VOTING IS OPEN - Your VOTE is NEEDED

Amy's Army Signature Quilt
Designed by Wanda Krause for @BoSoxAmy Family
with contributions by #AmysArmy on Twitter

Hi Pals,

Do you remember awhile ago when I talked about so many twitter pals coming together to help @MaggieTkat and @ParkerTKat's mom put together a signature Quilt for the family of @SeabassCat (who has since crossed OTRB)? That family lost all their belongings in a fire about 4 months ago in Kansas.
Wanda (Maggie and Parker's human mom) finished the top of the quilt and it is now being quilted and put together by a very good quilting friend of hers.  It should be ready to be shipped out to Seabass Cat's mom and dad very soon.

Wanda entered that quilt in a quilt show that one of our Twitter friends told her about.   If she should win a prize, she plans to give that prize to the woman that is machine quilting this for her since she isn't charging for her service.

Now we need YOUR help.  Could you take a few minutes out of your busy day and go over to the website, which is a quilt shop, listed beloiw and leave a comment to cast your vote.

Quoted from Wanda:

"OK folks. We have a whole weekend to vote for Amy's quilt! Here are the rules: http://lilypadquilting.

So, all you need to do is leave a comment at the above blog that says:

Cat on quilt or cat themed quilt: # 99
EQ pet theme quilt: #99
If a prize is won, it goes to our machine quilter since she's quilting for free. Us Twitter folks just want the bragging rights! I have read each entry, and our story is unique. Comments on my blog are incredible, most comment on the story and the obvioius love we have.

If you could help spread the word, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, the winning certificate will be a great addition to the quilt appraisal!"

Wanda

If you would like to leave a personal note for Wanda, you can do so on their blog; http://krusekats.blogspot.com/ This quilt is a real work of love and means even more now since @SeabassCat has passed on.

Thanks pals.

Repeat Performance - Awards

The Very Inspiring Blogger Award
Received From
Hi Pals,

Two more awards came my way again.   The Very Inspiring Blogger Award was presented to me on July 12, 2012 by Brandon and Bogart at http://Www.brandoandbogart.blogspot.com -two of the cutest little woofies you've ever seen.   I think they are King Charles Cavaliers, but I'm not 100% sure of that.   I tried to find some information on that in their bloggy tonight, but was not successful.   You need to go over and say hello tho and see for yourself.   Even if you are not a woofie person, you'll fall in love with these two guys!

There are two requirements to this award:  ! have to link back to the presenter, which I have done; and I have to present it to 15 other bloggers.   Well, I'm going to break a couple of rules as this award has been around the circuit several times.  So if you have not been given this award yet and would like it, please feel free to take it.   It is an honor to receive it, but after an award has been around the circuit so many times, one can spend hours trying to find someone who has not had it yet.  M said her back won't hold up that long. he he   Plus there are so many many worthy blogs out there.  In fact, every  blog I visit is very worthy of any award.

I'm also supposed to tell you 7 things about myself.  Well, there again, most of you that know me pretty well already know most of this stuff.   So forgive me if I repeat some things.

1.   I'm toothless and have been for 2 years now due to Stomatitis.  My entire toothie story is written up and located in one of the tabs at the top of this page.

2.   I picked out my new family myself at the shelter when they came looking for another kitty to love.  I just wrapped myself around Dad's feet and made sure I left my scent all over his pant legs.  I knew they were the ones for me.

3.   I was in the shelter for 2 months before getting adopted.  Probably because I'm black and white and no one wants a black kitty.  It's a shame M says because I'm the most lovable kitty they have ever had, and their other kitties were lovable also.

4.   I'm an indoor kitty, but am allowed to go out with my humans wearing a harness and on a leash.  D walks me around the back yard and then puts me in a KritterKondo for as long as I want to stay there.  They make sure someone is out there with me tho while I'm in the KritterKondo.

5.   I am an only kitty - there are no other kitties or woofies living here.  But my humans have had a total of 3 other kitties and a woofie over the years.

6.   My favorite toy is the Neko Flies currently.   I change my mind about once a year.  It used to be balls, then catnip toys, now the Neko Fly.   I don't know how to play by myself  - I only play when my human plays with me.

7.   I has been on Twitter for 3 years now and had my own bloggie for 2 1/2 years.

If you are interested in the very inspiring award, please take it and enjoy it.,
You are all worthy of it as each blog I read inspires me in some manner.

Now on to the next one:

Thinking Of You Award
(Designed by Nerissa at

 http://nerissa-the-cats-life.blogspot.com/

The Thinking Of You Award is new.   Nerissa over at  http://nerissa-the-cats-life.blogspot.com/ actually designed this and awarded it to me on 7/30/12 and  to a few other people.   Thank you so much Nerissa.  It's a very lovely award.   Who doesn't love pansies with their sweet little faces.   I'm honored that I was selected to be among the first to see this beautiful award.   Nerissa writes a great blog, so please go over and take a look at it.

Now I'm supposed to link back to Nerissa, which I just did, then tell you 7 things that I love and think about daily.

1.   I love my peeps - they are the very best.

2.   I love to go outside, even if I have to wear the harness and leash.

3.   I love to play with M, especially with the Neko Fly, and we have to do it every night before bed and sometimes in the morning too.,

4.    I love my drinkwell fountain that was a gift from a special friend.

5.    I love all my Twitter pals and blogging pals.

6.    I love my Proplan kibble and Fancy Feast wet food.

7,.   I love to snuggle in bed with my humans.

Last, but not least, we'd like to pass this "Thinking of You Award" on to the following friends:

1.   Bugsy and Knuckles at  http://www.maxthequiltcat.com/

2.   Cathy Keisha at http://www.stunningkeisha.com/

3.\    Glogirly at http://www.glogirly.com/

4.      Isabella at http://beadedtail.blogspot.com/

5.      Qui Qui at http://twinkletoetails.blogspot.com

6.       The gang at http://marksmews.blogspot.com/

7.       Tabitha and Woody over at http://wildcatwoodscats.blogspot.com/

Enjoy your awards pals.
