What a night we had here last night!
Everything was nice and peaceful until about 3:00 this morning. I usually sleep with M until about that time, when we both get up - M for a litter box break and me for a snack break!
i then got up on my window perch like always to patrol and snooze until M and D get up for the day.
This is what I was doing at 3:00 a.m. when IT HAPPENED!
Some intruder of a cat climbed the bush right outside this window and was clinging to the screen. You can see the bush really well in the top photo. I started yowling and so did the intruder. D sprang out of bed out of a dead sleep! I shot off the perch, landed on the bed, and zoomed off for the basement. where I stayed for a long time. D did come down there with me and tried to sooth my nerves cuz i WAS MAD! How dare dat other cat come over here and try to climb my window! D is mad too cuz dat kitty left holes in his window screen. Now he said he'll have to replace the screen.
M asked D if he got a good look at the cat, and he said no. All he saw was something clinging to the screen with ears and it's mouth open, hissing, and me putting up a ruckus! It was very very dark outside.
This same thing happened about 4 days ago too - only it happened about 8:30 at night when everyone was still up in our house. This time it happened in the wee hours of the morning. M is not happy and told D we'll probably have to keep that window closed or we may have to cut down the bush so no cat can climb up there anymore.
M wishes people would keep their cats indoors or on a leash because it's a real problem when they start visiting other houses with a cat in it. We don't usually have a problem with ferals in our neighborhood. This is probably someone's pet who they are now letting to start roam. We live in a city - not in the country where there is lots of room to roam around. Plus our city has an ordinance about keeping pets on a leash or in their own yard!
Sorry for ranting pals, but this really upset me last night, and I'm normally a very peaceful little guy!

I sure hope all gets calm and normal for you Mario. I know those things can be very scary.
Mario, we don't blame you for being upset. That sounds really scary. It also does not sound like a feral cat. I don't think a feral cat would get that close to climb up on the bush and the window screen. You might want to put a trap out there and just see what the cat is all about. Anyway, glad everyone is all right for now.
Oh Mario, you poor poor boy! What a horrible jolt for you! My mommy and I have been thru the same but at the front door, except the raccoons that set me off horribly. Mommy said she feels you pain and you M's too.
XXXOOO
Oh no what an exciting night, and not in a good way! I hope the pawrents of the kitty will be more responsible and he won't come back to upset you like that.
You poor dear! You shouldn't have to keep watch all night long for introoders!
We hope you have a much calmer night, tonight. Happy Tuesday XOXO
Pee Ess - we love your header!
We are very happy that you are okay, and that the intruder didn't tear the screen! That is scary! ~xo~
Oh Mario, I knows wot you mean! Outside cats come and get our basement kitties' unnercoats all in a wad coz they do the yowling and stuffs at each udder and mom had to go flying downstairs to slam the winders shut then OUR kittehs get no fresh airs. Grrrr.
You have every right to be upset, Mario. We would be too!
We think it's probably best to cut down the bush rather than to close to window. It's not fair that YOU have to lose your window whiffles because of the roaming kitty!
ohhhh my!! The NERVE of that cat! Are you sure it wasn't a feral?
That is no fun having a trespasser like that! What a bummer that some other human is making trouble for you and yours by letting their cat roam at all hours.
Oh Mario, I can sure understand about you being upset! I get upset like that when I see Blackie the Stray! Mum tries to feed him but she is crazy and I let her know good and proper!!
I hope all is peaceful tonight. Lie low, buddy
ciao, Austin
Mario, since it was dark, are you 100% sure that it WAS a cat and not a vicious squirrel or raccoon or something
Oh ma pal! We must find you a guard pup. I will begin searching.
How rude of that introoder! We hope he never tries that again!
We just want to say that we are glad it was a cat and not a skunk. We have skunks out at night where we live. Tell D he can get pet proof screen at Lowe's. Our entire catio is screened with it. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
Sorry an intruder cat was so rude and climbed your window. Maybe you can put a motion-detector water sprinkler or compressed air can out there to scare it off the next time it walks by. We saw that on the "My Cat From Hell" show. A stray kitty was coming by a resident kitty's window and making it really upset. Here's the air can thing: http://www.amazon.com/Contech-StayAway-Motion-Activated-Pet-Deterrent/dp/B000DZFFN4
That is just not right ... bad bad bad intruder! Do you want me to come and do sentry duty? You need your screens as summer on it's way and you don't want to be bothered by nasty little insects xxx's
Calm down, mario. If that cat comes back, i guess you have to tell your M and D to cut those bushes so it won't climb up again and leve holes on your screen. I understand you being upset though. Some introoder.
We have had this kind of problem occasionally with a neighbour cat, and Tama just goes crazy. So, #1 makes sure she has all the blinds down and curtains closed before we go to bed!
Purrs,
The chans
I so agree with M & D on people keeping their pets at home, cat or dog. Sorry you were jolted out of a nice sleep. Hope your relaxed now.
Holy CAT, Mario! Those evil neighbor kittehs are just, well, EBIL!
How dare that mean old introoder kitty! Sounds like you showed him!
How DARE that kitty come up to YOUR window, Mario! Yes, people really need to keep their pets safe and inside!
Well, it is purrfectly unnerstandable that you got so upset when some introoder cat tried to get at you through the screen!
Oah dear,
We are giving you a big hug to comfort you!!
Ugh. I hate intruders. The nerve of that kitty getting on your bush and window screen. And leaving holes! How rude! I hope M & D find out who the kitty belongs to and makes them pay for the new screen.
Mom agrees that kitties should be kept in their homes or own yards. Intruder kitties are a nuisance.
That was scary! Hope the kitty stays away! Thanks for coming by for Yoko's party!
cats of wildcat woods
Mario, Buddy! I would have totally FREAKED OUT if that happened here! What was that Kitty THINKING!? I hope you have recovered from your traumatic experience! Sending you calming purrs!
Oh my goodness, that sounds like quite a fright! That kitty shouldn't disrupt anyone's sleep like that!
Piggy kisses,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Oh, Mario, we would be upset too! We don't invade other kitties homes so we don't want them at ours uninvited. Maybe someone knows whose kitty that is if you ask around, then you can explain to its owner about your screen. And maybe they will keep in it. Its safer for the kitty too. We had a visiting kitty who upset one of our cats and he took it out on Julie, who was lowest kitty back then. Now she hates other cats. People don't understand how letting their cat roam can affect others. Thanks for stopping by and helping us trash our house while our mom was gone. You did an excellent job and taught us a thing or two!
Nosey neighbour cat comes over to my house ALL THE TIME! MOUSES!!! purrs
Oh, goodness, what a frightening way to be wakened in the middle of the night.
Oh dear and you were woken up by this bush climbing cat - didn't your yowls send him on his way? We have lights that come on if there is movement outside - that usually frightens any strangers away.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Hope things are peaceful again, Mario!
I don't blame you for being mad. I'd be ticked off too.
I hope the kitty has a home to go to & they'll learn that it isn't safe for cats to be allowed to roam.
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh dear Mario. That really is upsetting. And we get upset too when people let their pet kitties roam outside. Not only is it disruptive for you, but it's just not safe for them. Hope it all works out okay... Purrs from the Zee and Zoey gang!
