Stupid M Trick on Her Birthday No Less

I'm staying here until the coast is clear

Hi Pals,

Well M really did it last night - another stupid M trick.  Somewhere around 9:30 or so I told M I wanted a drink out of the bathroom sink.  She proceeded to pull the stopper, turned on the water, and left the room!   Yes pals, she left the room with the water running!    

The next thing she remembers is hearing D yell "Mary."    Water had flowed down from the sink, onto the carpeting.  When that became soaked, it seeped through the padding, thru the floor  boards and was collecting in the basement on the concrete!  YIKES.   What a mess.

The peeps called the company that was here to clean up when the sewer backed up a couple of years ago.    He came out, hauled in a bunch of noisy equipment, and left for the night.     

I guess things are drying out.  The worst part was that my litter box had to be moved to a new location because the floor was wet where it usually  sits.   Of all the nerve.  i don't like this much, but what can I do.  Guess I'll hide away in my hidey hole until things are back to normal.

M says this is the most expensive birthday she's ever had, and she's not enjoying it much either.


The one bright spot in her day was getting a phone call from a dear friend in London wishing her a Happy Birthday.   That made her day.
