 Happy Veterans Day Everyone,

Do you know a veteran?   I would guess we all know at least one, if not more.   I do - my favorite #1 person was in the Korean War - well he was in Korea right after the war was supposedly over.   But dad says there was still plenty of shooting going on and one had to be careful with where they went.   Supposedly the war was over tho, which made M feel good.

We need to remember all veterans because without them fighting for us in this country, we probably wouldn't have many of the freedoms we now enjoy.   I think it's too bad we have to ever have wars and need men and women to protect us.   Why can't everyone be more like a cat - settle our differences with a few hisses and maybe a whomp  or two across he nose.   Just establish our territories and leave each other alone - be respectful to the other's territory.   Sigh!

Until that happens, I guess we'll always need men and women to protect us so we keep our freedoms.,

So veterans, enjoy your special day ----- you deserve every minute of it and we appreciate all you have done for us.

Mario

You call it Vederans Day and we in Australia call it Remembrance Day. Fills me with pride that so many choose the 11th hour of 11th day of the 11th month each year to remember and honour

Yup. Hisses and a nose whack or two. We kitties really do know how to settle matters, don't we? Although... I've found that once my brother Seville gets his mad on, there's no calming him down. Thank goodness his only weapons are his claws.

If it's not territories human are fighting over, it's religion. Sigh. Did your D know Hawkeye and Hot Lips? Happy Veterans' Day.

Outdoor kitties also pee on things to mark their territory - maybe humans should adopt this practice too? I think it is far less complicated than all those treaties and stuff.

Okay, maybe not. But until they think of a better way to deal with things, we have our veterans to thank!

That is absolutely true. We have so much we could learn and probably never will. How sad! But we owe our vets for so much! They are incredibly brave when needed.

The Human's Dad was a Marine captain in WWII who served 3+ years in the South Pacific and then was sent to occupy Japan when the fighting ended. We is verreh proud of him! He has been gone for almost 30 years, but the Human still thinks about him very often. XOXOXO

The only veteran I met from the Korean war was a volunteer who served with other veterans, donating their time to give families an honor guard service at their loved ones funerals.

He was a wonderful man. He and the rest of the honor guards made my dad's funeral one that no one who was there will ever forget.

Veterans Day is very special to us and we had a chance to go to chapel for Mass. Our priest was an army chaplain, so he was able to share (as he's done in the past, bit by bit) some Vietnam War insights and what he experienced.

Someone said veterans deserve more than one day of remembrance. We'll just settle for daily thoughts of gratitude.

Hugs,
Tom, the kits and Mom Julie
